This MP3 to MIDI converter accepts MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, AAC, FLAC and WMA files, plus the audio track in MP4 and MOV videos. Encrypted, DRM-protected, damaged or unusual codec variants may not decode.
Each file can be up to 50 MB (50,000,000 bytes) and 3 minutes long. These are this tool's limits to keep memory use manageable, not limits of the MIDI format. Processing speed depends on your device. There is no daily quota.
The output is a standard MIDI file containing detected notes on one instrument track. Chords can produce simultaneous notes, but this is not instrument separation, sheet-music generation or an exact reconstruction of a finished song. No notes detected means no download—not a made-up result.

Can I use this as a WAV to MIDI converter?

Will my MIDI sound exactly like the MP3?
No. MIDI stores notes and timing, not a recording of the sound. Your DAW's instrument determines how it sounds. No automatic transcription is guaranteed to be note-perfect.
Does this MIDI converter work on a phone?
It runs in modern browsers with WebAssembly. Choose a file from your phone and keep this tab open. Long recordings can be slow on smaller devices; start with a short clip.
Why are some notes missing or incorrect?
Reverb, noise, drums and overlapping instruments make note detection harder. Use an isolated instrument or a cleaner recording, then edit the MIDI in your DAW. This tool does not separate a full mix into instruments.
Do I need to register or upload to a server?
No. File selection gives the browser access to your chosen file only. Conversion runs on your device. Refreshing this page clears the current result.
